What should I do if I catch a CFF tagged trophy trout?
As part of the Crowley Fish Foundation’s inaugual trout stocking on May 5, 2026, ten specially-picked trophy sized trout were tagged with CFF Tags. Have you caught one of these monsters with a CFF tag? We are happy for you! Please review the below information for how to redeem the tag for a prize.

These are hot pink “Floy” tags and will be easy to spot. This is a picture of the actual tags before they were placed on the fish. Once you catch the fish, take clear photos of the fish and the tag. You can keep the fish and remove the tag afterward, or even better, you can safely pull the tag end out (it will pop out and won’t hurt the fish) and release the trout back into the water to swim another day. When releasing the trout, be sure to follow proper catch and release steps, keeping the fish in the water as much as possible.
You can contact any CFF board member, or email your photo and tag details (including the CFF Tag number) to info@crowleyfishfoundation.org. Please also let us know the location where you caught the fish, if you can. Those lucky anglers who catch a tagged CFF trophy trout will receive one of a number of prizes donated by our supporting individuals and businesses, including half-day guided fishing trips, fishing equipment, and gift cards. Awarding of prizes is at the discretion of the CFF and subject to availability. We will be posting pictures of our lucky anglers who catch a CFF trophy trout. Good luck out on the water!
