Inaugural Trout Stocking on May 5, 2026

Our first trout stocking happened on May 5, 2026, with 1,650 lbs of high quality fish successfully trucked in from Oregon released into the water at Crowley Lake. Crowley Fish Foundation thanks our many generous donors for exceeding our inaugural fundraising campaign goal of $10,000 for our first trout stocking!

Thank you to the many supporters who braved the morning rain to come out and participate, including representatives from Mammoth Lakes Town Council, Bishop Chamber of Commerce, Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce, and Mammoth Lakes Tourism.

Ten trophy trout have been tagged as part of our inaugural fish release, and those lucky anglers who catch one will win prizes donated by our local business supporters. If you catch one of our trophy tagged trout, review these instructions for how to remove and report the tag, and redeem your prize!

Crowley Fish Foundation Announces
Second Trout Stocking Campaign

Our second trout stocking campaign is dedicated to the memory of longtime Crowley Lake fishing guide Chris Basso. Chris helped countless anglers enjoy the beauty of Crowley Lake while showing them how to successfully fish. Chris was an easily identifiable person at the lake, always kind and respectful to everyone. The Crowley Lake fishing community misses Chris, and the Crowley Fish Foundation is dedicating our fundraising campaign for our second trout stocking event scheduled for July 2026 in honor and memory of Chris Basso.

Follow our trout meter below, which will be updated regularly to show our progress towards our $30,000 goal for our second stocking event in July 2026. Patti Maisner has generously kicked off the Crowley Fish Foundation’s second trout stocking campaign with a seed gift of $5,000 to honor the late Chris Basso.

Please consider joining Patti to make a donation today — every contribution no matter how big or small makes a difference. Donations to the CFF not only fund our current and future fish stocking efforts, they also support our many other year-round community, youth, conservation and veteran activities. Chris would be thrilled to know that your contribution is going towards helping out future generations at his “happy place”. You can contribute by clicking here.
